COMMENTARY

An Earby 63-9 was not going to trouble Skipton or so it seemed. U12s Test man Jake Greenbank 25 stood out but then their bowlers began the fightback. Skipton lost 8 wickets in the ultimately successful chase with the win owing much to Taverner George Sutcliffe’s 23. Bottom club Haworth West End was demolished by an on-form Pendle Forest 172-3. Liam Smalley 30, Connor Tattersall 26, Lorne Pollard 26 and George Stanworth 25 made hay. Smalley added 3-1 to completely undermine the West End reply at 19-7. A much awaited Oakworth-Oxenhope match, although academic went the way of the home side which scored 111-4 with 25s for Ollie Huck and Ben Howell. A superb opening salvo from Dan Aspinall 3-24 and Tom Fothergill 2-4 seriously held back the Oxenhope innings which ended at 79-8. The Wharfedale Stags were routed at 17-8 with Pat Lee instrumental with 3-6. Glusburn did lose 2 wickets making the tiny target. Pendle replayed with Earby and took another win with 107-3 from Liam Smalley 27 and 23 from Harry Halstead. Master Blaster Luke Hipgrave stacked up 26 but his teammates failed to build and Earby ended at 49-7.

Ingrow continued their climb back up the table with 117-4 at Haworth, who made 58-9. Will Rankin 26 and Tom Bradley 25 did the batting business whilst Jack Kennedy 4-6 completed a successful night. George Halliwell made 23 for the luckless Bronte boys. Bradley’s 78-5 was spearheaded by 27 from Will Greenwood but the team tally proved no problem for hosts Wilsden who made 81-4 including 25 for Sam Holdsworth. Division winners Gargrave ended the promotion hopes of Embsay with an 8-wicket win. Prolific Morgan Davies chipped in 26 to the Embsay 71-9 whilst Tyler McGladdery with 28 featured in the Gargrave 74-2. A Steeton 72-5 score-line at Silsden proved insufficient as the home team took the points with 75-2. Ryan Birch with 25 for Steeton and George Guest with 28 for Silsden were the evening’s heroes.
